Was Limitiert Die Aktuelle VO2max

Determination of the velocity associated with VO2max.
Medicine and science in sports and exercise, 2000The theoretical velocity associated with VO2max (vVO2max) defined by Daniels (1985) is extrapolated from the submaximal VO2-velocity relationship. VO2 is generally determined by assuming that the aerobic response reacts like a linear first-order system at the beginning of square-wave exercise with a steady-state reached by the 4th minute.

Maximal endurance time at VO2max.
Medicine and science in sports and exercise, 2000There has been significant recent interest in the minimal running velocity which elicits VO2max. There also exists a maximal velocity, beyond which the subject becomes exhausted before VO2max is reached. Between these limits, there must be some velocity that permits maximum endurance at VO2max, and this parameter has also been of recent interest.

New ideas on limitations to VO2max.
Exercise and sport sciences reviews, 2001VO2max indicates maximal oxidative metabolic capacity (unfit subjects) or maximal O2 supply (athletes). The latter reflects integration of all transport steps from air to cytochromes. Every step contributes something; the importance of each contribution varies with conditions.
