Abstract Alagille syndrome (ALGS) is a rare, autosomal dominant disorder which presents with a broad range of clinical manifestations, including cholestatic pruritus. A unique manifestation of ALGS is the presence of xanthomas in 24%–42% of patients, which can lead to liver transplantation.

Vocal Cord Immobility: Nomenclature

The terms used to describe vocal fold motion impairment are confusing and not standardized. This results in a failure to communicate accurately and to major limitations of interpreting research studies involving vocal fold impairment. Here, standard nomenclature for reporting vocal fold impairment is proposed.
