Consideration of vocal fold position in unilateral vocal fold paralyses

open access: yesEuropean Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2014
The objective of this study was to improve the evaluation of unilateral vocal fold paralyses (uVFP) by means of an area measurement of the glottic plane, which describes the position of the paralysed vocal fold. The area measurements were related to electromyographic findings and clinical outcome (recovery, voice quality).

Vocal fold oscillation pattern changes related to loudness in patients with vocal fold mass lesions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 2020
Introduction Vocal fold mass lesions can affect vocal fold oscillation patterns and therefore voice production. It has been previously observed that perturbation values from audio signals were lower with increased loudness.

Voice and vocal fold position in men with unilateral vocal fold paralysis. [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian journal of otorhinolaryngology, 2012

Comparison of the efficacy of vocal training and vocal microsurgery in patients with early vocal fold polyp

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2019
Introduction: Vocal fold polyp is a benign proliferative disease in the superficial lamina propria of the vocal fold, and vocal microsurgery can improve the voice quality of patients with vocal fold polyp.

A Tri-Layered Hydrogel Scaffold for Vocal Fold Tissue Engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The lamina propria within the vocal fold (VF) is a complex multi-layered tissue that increases in stiffness from the superficial to deep layer, where this characteristic is crucial for VF sound production.

Numerical and Experimental Investigations on Vocal Fold Approximation in Healthy and Simulated Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
We have developed a novel surgical/computational model for the investigation of unilat-eral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) which will be used to inform future in silico approaches to improve surgical outcomes in type I thyroplasty.
