Biochemical Analysis of Vocal Fold Polyps
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1992Arachidonic acid metabolites (AAm) have important regulatory functions within several areas of otorhinolaryngology: modulation of immune and allergic responses, inflammation, allergy, etc. The aetiology of vocal fold polyps is still obscure as are the possible mechanisms responsible for their forming and developing.

Vocal folds polyps in voice professionals
Russian Otorhinolaryngology, 2022Vocal fold polyps (VFP) are referred to as tumor-like formations of the larynx. They also, like nodules, occur in less than 1% of the population, while the ratio of men and women is 2:1. The voice of patients with VFP is characterized by pronounced dysphonia, which creates significant problems for voice professionals. A change in voice function affects

Ultrastructural Features of Vocal Fold Nodules and Polyps
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1988Earlier investigation did not show any clear distinctive pathological features that differentiate vocal polyps from vocal nodules. The light microscopic distinctive features between the two lesions point in the direction of a more pronounced epithelial reaction and a more fibrous stromal change in vocal nodules.

Spontaneous Resolution of Hemorrhagic Polyps of the True Vocal Fold
Journal of Voice, 2009Hemorrhagic polyps are the most common benign lesions surgically removed from the vocal folds. Although this modality does offer satisfactory results in most of the cases, there is a subset of polyps that seems to resolve with conservative therapy. This study was performed to examine this subset of polyps.

Chaotic vibrations of a vocal fold model with a unilateral polyp
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004A nonlinear model was proposed to study chaotic vibrations of vocal folds with a unilateral vocal polyp. The model study found that the vocal polyp affected glottal closure and caused aperiodic vocal fold vibrations. Using nonlinear dynamic methods, aperiodic vibrations of the vocal fold model with a polyp were attributed to low-dimensional chaos ...
