Effect of Submerged Vegetation on Water Surface Geometry and Air–Water Momentum Transfer

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 1, 16 January 2026.
Abstract Understanding how submerged vegetation modifies the water surface is crucial for modeling momentum exchange between shallow waters and the atmosphere. In particular, quantifying its impact on the equivalent aerodynamic roughness of the water surface is essential for improved boundary‐layer parameterization in oceanic and atmospheric models. In

Wide‐Flow Aerosol Jet Printing Enables High‐Throughput, Ultra‐Low Aspect Ratio Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
Wide‐flow aerosol jet printing (WF‐AJP) employs an anisotropic nozzle design to generate planar aerosol jets, enabling millimeter‐scale deposition of highly uniform, ultra‐low aspect ratio (<1:6000) films with substantially reduced anisotropy in functional performance.

Investigating the Effects of Mass Transfer and Mixture Non-Ideality on Multiphase Flow Hydrodynamics Using CFD Methods [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2010
A numerical framework has been proposed to model the interacting effects of mixture non-ideality and mass transfer on hydrodynamics of a multiphase system using CFD methods.Mass transfer during condensation and vaporization is modeled by chemical ...

Using Extrapolation Techniques in VOF Methodology to Model Expanding Bubbles

open access: yesProcedia IUTAM, 2015
A numerical method is presented to study cavity and bubble dynamics. The liquid phase is assumed to be inviscid and incom-pressible and separated from the gas or vacuum phase by a free surface. On the free surface the stress tensor reduces to a spatially constant pressure.

Two-phase flow and oxygen transport in the perforated gas diffusion layer of proton exchange membrane fuel cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Liquid water transport in perforated gas diffusion layers (GDLs)is numerically investigated using a three-dimensional (3D)two-phase volume of fluid (VOF)model and a stochastic reconstruction model of GDL microstructures.

Integrated Numerical Modelling System for Extreme Wave Events at the Wave Hub Site [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper examines an extreme wave event which occurred during a storm at the Wave Hub site in 2012. The extreme wave of 9.57 m height was identified from a time series of the heave data collected by an Oceanor Seawatch Mini II Buoy deployed at the site.
