A VOF Method for Isobaric Expandable Flows
PAMM, 2012AbstractIn this paper a method is described to simulate isobaric multiphase flows at low Mach numbers with steep temperature gradients for fluids with non‐negligible thermal expansivity. Governing equations and solution procedure are outlined. Further, a test case is shown in order to verify the model.

A Marker-VOF Algorithm for Incompressible Flows With Interfaces
Volume 1: Fora, Parts A and B, 2002In this paper, we present a three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction algorithm for Cartesian grids and a split advection algorithm which is based on a two-dimensional (2D) Eulerian-Lagrangian scheme that conserves mass exactly for incompressible flows. In the Volume-of-Fluid/Piecewise Linear Interface Calculation (VOF/PLIC) method a linear function in ...

Superhydrophobic surfaces: From nature to biomimetic through VOF simulation
Micron, 2018The contact angle, surface structure and chemical compositions of Canna leaves were investigated. According to the surface structure of Canna leaves which observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)model was established and the method of volume of fluid (VOF) was used to simulate the process of droplet ...

Numerical simulation of bubble condensation using CF-VOF
Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2016Abstract In present study, subcooled boiling is simulated using color function volume of fluid (CF-VOF) method. For this purpose, energy equation and Tanasawa mass transfer model accompanied with some suitable source terms are implemented in OpenFOAM solver (interFoam).

A Redistribution-Based Volume-Preserving PLIC-VOF Technique
Numerical Heat Transfer, Part B: Fundamentals, 2014Youngs' piecewise line interface construction/volume-of-fluid (PLIC-VOF) technique is an accurate tool for interface representation and intrinsic volume conservation for multiphase simulations. Direction splitting of the algorithm ensures stable performance up to Courant numbers of unity.

Numerical simulation Of bubble behavior using VOF method
2011 International Conference on Electric Technology and Civil Engineering (ICETCE), 2011Taking full account of the liquid viscosity, surface tension and other factors, a detailed numerical simulation using VOF method was carried out to study the dynamic behavior of bubbles in still water, and obtained the rising path, deformation process and speed changes. The numerical results were compared with experimental data, and gained good result.

Simulation of shallow water waves using VOF method
Journal of Hydro-environment Research, 2010Abstract In this study, the transformation of groupy waves and plunging breakers as they travel to a breaking point in a coastal zone is two dimensionally investigated. The governing equations are momentum, continuity and Fractional Volume Of Fluid (VOF) function equations. The fluid is assumed to be viscous and incompressible.
