Lipid‐Hybrid Multicompartment Membrane Systems for Controlled, Compartmentalized Encapsulant Release

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Herein a bio‐inspired, lipid‐hybrid‐based multicompartmental material for scalable (milliliter) microencapsulation (20 – 200 µm) and controlled release of aqueous solutions is presented. The multicompartmental architecture provides non‐mixing environments, spatial patterning of encapsulants, and controlled compartmentalized release by surfactant ...

Inaudible Voice Commands [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Voice assistants like Siri enable us to control IoT devices conveniently with voice commands, however, they also provide new attack opportunities for adversaries. Previous papers attack voice assistants with obfuscated voice commands by leveraging the gap between speech recognition system and human voice perception.

Sustainable Sensors Prepared by Environmentally Benign Means for Improving the Environmental Footprint of Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A stretchable and bendable resistance sensor made predominantly from sustainable and biodegradable components is conductive courtesy a water soluble self‐doped conjugated polymer. The wearable sensor measures micromovements by changes in its resistance and it can track both human movement and phonation. Abstract Sustainable electronic devices offer the

Fully Passive Electrochemical Oxygen Sensor Enabled With Organic Electrochemical Transistor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A wireless oxygen sensor that operates with low power without batteries, using organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) powered by near‐field communication (NFC) is presented. The sensor combines an oxygen‐permeable membrane and a gel electrolyte to detect oxygen in air and complex liquids, making way for sustainable sensor technologies.

Nord Stream methane leaks spread across 14% of Baltic waters

open access: yesNature Communications
A suspected 443-486 kt of methane escaped from the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022 at four explosion sites across three pipelines. Much of this methane rapidly escaped to the atmosphere, while an unknown amount was dissolved.
