On the magnetic fields in voids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the possible magnetization of cosmic voids by void galaxies. Recently, observations revealed isolated starforming galaxies within the voids. Furthermore, a major fraction of a voids volume is expected to be filled with magnetic fields of a minimum strength of about $10^{-15}$ G on Mpc scales.

Thermoplastic coating of carbon fibers [PDF]

open access: yes
Using a continuous powder coating process, more than 1500 meters of T 300/LaRC-TPI prepreg were produced. Two different types of heating sections in the coating line, namely electrical resistance and convection heating, were utilized. These prepregs were

Spectral Properties of Galaxies in Void Regions

open access: yes, 2015
We present a study of spectral properties of galaxies in underdense large-scale structures, voids. Our void galaxy sample (75,939 galaxies) is selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 (DR7) with $\rm z < 0.107$. We find that there

Factors affecting the pheromone composition of voided boar saliva [PDF]

open access: yesReproduction, 1987
The pheromone binding protein 'pheromaxein' which binds the pheromonal 16-androstene steroids in the saliva of the male pig (boar), was degraded and lost its binding activity in saliva incubated in air for 72 h at 21 degrees C and 37 degrees C. However, pheromaxein and its binding activity were retained in saliva incubated for 168 h at 4 degrees C ...

GDP‐fucose transporter SLC35C1: a potential regulatory role in cytosolic GDP‐fucose and fucosylated glycan synthesis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Bubble Shape and Transport During LCM Processes: Experimental Modeling in a T-Junction Tube [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Long fiber composite materials can be elaborated by Liquid Composite Molding (LCM), a family of processes where fibrous preforms are injected by a low viscosity resin. During this process, we have to pay particular attention to the void formation inside the preform because it could modify the material final characteristics.

High Temperature VARTM of Phenylethynyl Terminated Imides (PETI) Resins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Fabrication of composite structures using vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) is generally more affordable than conventional autoclave techniques. Recent efforts have focused on adapting VARTM for the fabrication of high temperature composites.

An efficient strategy for producing RNA‐free Nucleocapsid protein of SARS‐CoV‐2 for biochemical and structural investigations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cleavable N‐terminal Thioredoxin fusion enabled soluble expression and purification of otherwise insoluble SARS‐CoV‐2 Nucleocapsid (N) protein. A four‐step purification strategy yielded highly homogeneous, RNA‐free N protein. Binding assays showed high RNA affinity (Kd ~ 28 nm). The study will facilitate high‐resolution structural studies of N protein,
