Void Fraction during Two-Phase Flow

Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1973
From consideration of the homogeneous equation for frictional pressure gradient, and the relation between friction and void fraction, an equation for the ratio of the phase velocities during two-phase flow, is developed which is interesting in form, easy to use, and agrees with experiment.

On ductile fracture initiation toughness: Effects of void volume fraction, void shape and void distribution

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 2005
Abstract This paper studies the effects of the initial relative void spacing, void pattern, void shape and void volume fraction on ductile fracture toughness using three-dimensional, small scale yielding models, where voids are assumed to pre-exist in the material and are explicitly modeled using refined finite elements.

DETERMINATION OF VOID FRACTION BY IMAGE PROCESSING

2016
Void fraction is one of the key parameters fordefining the characteristics of a two phase flow. However, determination ofvoid fraction is not easy due to changing conditions of flow and the type offluid. In literature, there are plenty of works on determination of voidfraction in two-phase flow in a pipe or channel which uses psychical parametersand ...

The Role of Void Distributions on Void Fraction Measurements

1978
The distribution of voids in a nuclear reactor is of great importance due to their effect on the neutron flux and on the reactor dynamic characteristics in addition to the well known thermohydraulic problems they create. The possibility of using scattered neutrons to measure voids in a liquid flow is investigated experimentally.
