Magneto-elastic SV-wave at the interface of pre-stressed surface with voids under rotation
The aim of this paper is to study the behaviour of reflection of SV- wave at a free surface under the effects of magnetic field, initial stress, rotation and voids.

Merging Tree Algorithm of Growing Voids in Self Similar and CDM Models [PDF]
Observational studies show that voids are prominent features of the large scale structure of the present day Universe. Even though their emerging from the primordial density perturbations and evolutionary patterns differ from dark matter halos, N-body simulations and theoretical models have shown that voids also merge together to form large void ...

Average luminosity distance in inhomogeneous universes
The paper studies the correction to the distance modulus induced by inhomogeneities and averaged over all directions from a given observer. The inhomogeneities are modeled as mass-compensated voids in random or regular lattices within Swiss-cheese ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Four designed precure cycles were applied to carbon/benzoxazine prepregs to realize different precure degrees. The quality of laminates in quasi-isotropic stacking sequence made from these precured prepregs was evaluated by void content.

The life and death of cosmic voids [PDF]
We investigate the formation, growth, merger history, movement, and destruction of cosmic voids detected via the watershed transform code VIDE in a cosmological N-body dark matter {\Lambda}CDM simulation. By adapting a method used to construct halo merger trees, we are able to trace individual voids back to their initial appearance and record the ...

Inner structure of ZnO microspheres fabricated via laser ablation in superfluid helium
ZnO microspheres fabricated via laser ablation in superfluid helium were found to have bubble-like voids. Even a microsphere demonstrating clear whispering gallery mode resonances in the luminescence had voids.

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Statistics and geometry of cosmic voids
We introduce new statistical methods for the study of cosmic voids, focusing on the statistics of largest size voids. We distinguish three different types of distributions of voids, namely, Poisson-like, lognormal-like and Pareto-like distributions.
