Volar Plate Injuries

The Physician and Sportsmedicine, 1982
In brief The common "jammed finger" occurs at the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint and is too often minimized by the coach and player and inadequately treated by the physician. Unless appropriately diagnosed and treated, volar plate injuries at that joint may result in permanent limitation of motion.

VOLARE

Proceedings of the 9th International Workshop on Adaptive and Reflective Middleware, 2010
With the recent widespread use of smart mobile devices, as well as the increasing availability of fast and reliable wireless Internet connections for mobile devices, there is increased interest in mobile applications where the majority of the processing occurs on the server side. The flexibility, stability and scalability offered by cloud services make

Volar Plate Fractures

Radiology, 1979
Rupture of the volar plate of the proximal interphalangeal joint, usually secondary to hyper-extension injury, may be accompanied by a radiographically evident avulsion fracture at the base of the middle phalanx. Findings were reviewed in 55 patients with 58 cases of volar plate fracture.

Volar scaphotrapezial dislocation

Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2004
We present a case of volar luxation of the scaphotrapezial bone, in which radiographs suggested luxation of the scaphoid, but unclear relations to the other carpal bones. Computer tomographic reconstruction showed an isolated scaphotrapezial luxation.

Volar Radiocarpal Fracture-Dislocation (Volar Barton’s Fracture)

1986
In 1837, John Rhea Barton of Philadelphia described both the dorsal and volar (Fig. 35-1) radiocarpal fracture-dislocations. Thomas later included the volar radiocarpal fracture- dislocation in his classification of Smith's fractures as a Smith Type II injury.

Fragment-specific Volar Hook Plate for Volar Marginal Rim Fractures

Techniques in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery, 2014
The volar lunate facet/volar marginal rim fragment of distal radius fractures is a challenging problem for current volar plating systems to adequately maintain internal fixation. Fragment-specific wireforms and other constructs can be used to capture these difficult fragments but are difficult to place and have limited resistance to bending and axial ...

Bilateral Volar Lunate Dislocation

Journal of Hand Surgery (European Volume), 2007
A 12 years follow-up of a case of bilateral volar lunate dislocation treated by open reduction and K-wire stabilisation of both wrists six days after injury is described. Despite aseptic necrosis of both lunates, the patient is pain free and has useful function, without the development of lunate ischaemia and collapse, carpal instability or ...
