AbstractThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between volatile sulphur compounds (VSC) and gingival health status, and to monitor the changes in VSC in early dental plaque-induced gingivitis. Using an experimental gingivitis model, twelve subjects between 19 and 28 years old, with a healthy gingival status, refrained from brushing ...

Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

A low‐Pt catalyst supported on zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8)‐derived porous carbon and graphite is integrated with a halide perovskite photovoltaic, yielding cathodes that achieve a high photocurrent density (∼20 mA cm−2) under simulated sunlight and exhibit remarkable stability in acidic media over several days, thereby demonstrating a ...

THE ORIGIN AND OCCURRENCE OF VOLATILE SULPHUR COMPOUNDS IN BRITISH ALES AND LAGERS [PDF]
A flame-photometric sulphur detector was used to identify, measure and determine the sources of the sulphur volatiles produced during the commercial processing of British ale and lager. Dimethyl sulphide was the main sulphur volatile present in malt but traces of hydrogen sulphide, diethyl sulphide, and dimethyl disulphide were also detected.

Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...
