Multiphysics simulations highlight the significant impact of partial water flooding of the catalyst layer on the shape of the gas diffusion electrode (GDE) polarization curves and suggest that mass‐transport limitation inside the catalyst layer may be limiting in a GDE setup, specifically at high current density.

Transient slab flattening beneath Colombia
Subduction of the Nazca and Caribbean Plates beneath northwestern Colombia is seen in two distinct Wadati Benioff Zones, one associated with a flat slab to the north and one associated with normal subduction south of 5.5°N.

Volcanism in slab tear faults is larger than in island-arcs and back-arcs
Subduction-transform edge propagators are lithospheric tears bounding slabs and back-arc basins. The volcanism at these edges is enigmatic because it is lacking comprehensive geological and geophysical data.

Here, we report an exsolution route to size‐tunable Ru‐metal nanocatalysts embedded in conductive metal pnictogenide matrices via the gas‐phase pnictogenation reaction of Ni2Fe1−xRux‐LDH. The inner‐sphere‐mechanism‐assisted interfacial electronic coupling between exsolved single‐atom nanocatalysts and conductive nickel iron pnictogenide matrices led to

FORMATION CONDITIONS OF AGATES [PDF]
Agates are formed at various temperatures, which covers a wide range from those of basaltic and andesitic melts (above 1100 °С) to several tens of centigrade, but at rather low pressures. Their formation in liquid mafic magmas is indicated by correlation

Going from Pt to PGM‐free Catalysts: Effects of Ink Compositions on PEM Water Electrolysis
Optimisation of cathode ink formulations regarding the ratio between catalyst, carbon and binder results in a boost in PEM water electrolysis performance. The optimisation can be transferred from pentlandites to platinum and selenide catalysts, wherein the metal chalcogenides show a stronger performance enhancement.

Stress Controls of Monogenetic Volcanism: A Review
The factors controlling the preparation of volcanic eruptions in monogenetic fields are still poorly understood. The fact that in monogenetic volcanism each eruption has a different vent suggests that volcanic susceptibility has a high degree of ...

Prototype Validation of a Large‐Scale CO2‐to‐Formate Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer
Overall, the scaled‐up zero‐gap prototype exhibits superior formate production performance compared to the lab‐scale filter press reactor, although it operates at higher cell voltages. These findings confirm the scalability of this technology. The scale‐up of gas‐phase CO2 electroreduction to formate is crucial for its industrial application but ...
