Volcanism and Seismicity in the Iwo-jima Volcanoes
Since the first recorded phreatic explosion occurred in 1889, eruptions took place fifteen times in Iwo-jima. Recently, Iwo-jima volcanoes has been studied from geophysical standpoint including seismometrical, geodetic and geothermal investigations. Most of phreatic explosions has been accompanied with high active stage of shallow earthquakes.

Abstract Only one quarter of the global ocean floor has been directly surveyed; the remaining three quarters are inferred from satellite altimeter‐derived gravity data using techniques developed in the 1990s. These classical methods correlate gravity anomalies with known depths and extrapolate bathymetry in unsounded regions.

Volcano-tectonic seismic events (VT) are quite rare at Stromboli, numbering about ten events per year and generally with low magnitude. Using a dataset of 98 events from the 2005–2024 period, we report an improved relocation of VT events here.

Thermochemical Controls on the X, 410, and 660 Discontinuities in the Central Mediterranean
Abstract The mantle beneath the Central Mediterranean is thermally and compositionally heterogeneous, as indicated by fragmented and locally stagnant slabs in tomographic images and HIMU‐like anorogenic magmatism. Mantle discontinuities are sensitive to both temperature and composition, and thus provide a way to quantify these heterogeneities.
