Streaming Conductive Powder Electrodes for the Measurement of Volta Potential Difference

open access: yesElectrochemistry, 2022
A stream of electron conductor powder (graphite, silver, and tin) was introduced to the measurement of Volta potential difference. The stream of the conductive powder was placed at the center of a vertical glass tube, while an aqueous electrolyte ...

Impact of grain orientation and phase on Volta potential differences in an additively manufactured titanium alloy [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
This work introduces a method for co-localized multi-modal imaging of sub-μm features in an additively manufactured (AM) titanium alloy. Ti-6Al-4V parts manufactured by electron beam melting powder bed fusion were subjected to hot isostatic pressing to seal internal porosity and machined to remove contour–hatch interfaces.

Insight into TiN inclusion induced pit corrosion of interstitial free steel exposed to aerated NaCl solution

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
The mechanism of step-like corrosion pit induced by TiN inclusion in Ti-stabilized interstitial free steel was systematically investigated. There was neither micro-crevice nor local stress in the steel matrix adjacent to the TiN inclusion, but a ...

Retraction Note: Investigation of coating delamination on steels by surface topography and Volta potential difference [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Solid State Electrochemistry, 2014
Corrosion-induced delamination of an epoxy coating on the AISI/SAE 1045 carbon steel was studied under a humid atmospheric condition (temperature of 25 °C, one standard atmospheric pressure, and relative humidity of 90 %) by the technique of scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy (SKPFM).
