Voltage collapse prediction and control of a power system using hybridized classical probability theory and voltage stability indices

open access: yesDiscover Electronics
The incessant voltage collapse incidences on the Nigeria National grid is a serious concern. The primary dependability issue of voltage collapse makes it difficult to operate a reliable and secure power system network.

A STEADY-STATE APPROACH TO PREVENT VOLTAGE COLLAPSE IN POWER SYSTEM

open access: yesIngeniería, 2013
This paper presents a steady state approach to prevent voltage collapse in a power system. The power system operation close to stability boundaries is an important factor which may lead to voltage instability conditions.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Voltage-Regulated Sparse Optimization for Proactive Diagnosis of Voltage Collapses

open access: yesCoRR
This paper aims to proactively diagnose and manage the voltage collapse risks, i.e., the risk of bus voltages violating the safe operational bounds, which can be caused by extreme events and contingencies. We jointly answer two resilience-related research questions: (Q1) Survivability: Upon having an extreme event/contingency, will the system remain ...

A novel Q-limit guided continuation power flow method for voltage stability analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Voltage security assessment is becoming a more and more important issue due to the fact that electrical power systems are more prone to voltage instability ...

Voltage collapse prediction using artificial neural network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Unalleviated voltage instability frequently results in voltage collapse; which is a cause of concern in power system networks across the globe but particularly in developing countries.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Performance Comparison of LCC and VSC HVDC Systems in Minimizing Long-Term Voltage Collapse

open access: yesIEEE Access
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission helps transmit large energy blocks over long distances. Line-Commutated Converters (LCC) and Voltage Source Converters (VSC) can be used for this purpose.

Security constrained reactive power dispatch in electrical power systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
With the increased loading and exploitation of the power transmission system and also due to improved optimised operation, the problem of voltage stability and voltage collapse attracts more and more attention .

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
