Voltage security reinforcement in voltage-controlled buses

No. 04EX956), 2005Maximum power transmission and inadequate voltage control are the two main aspects associated with voltage security analysis. Once weak buses are found by the assessment function, enhancement control actions may be recommended. The necessity of voltage security assessment and reinforcement on voltage-controlled buses has already been recognised.

2011 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2011PJM has developed a pilot program of on-line (real time) voltage control in which a system wide Optimal Voltage Control (OVC) demonstration system has been implemented and run on-line parallel with PJM existing system at PJM control center since Jan. 2010.
