A 1.8-GHz monolithic LC voltage-controlled oscillator

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1992
The authors describe a monolithic LC VCO (voltage-controlled oscillator) for use in the microwave frequency range. The circuit does not require any external components, but instead relies on characteristics inherent in the circuit configuration for frequency tuning. A simplified circuit schematic of the LC VCO is shown.

Voltage-controlled photonic oscillator

Optics Letters, 2010
We report the development and demonstration of an X-band voltage-controlled photonic oscillator based on a whispering gallery mode resonator made of an electro-optic crystalline material. The oscillator has good spectral purity and wide, agile, linear tunability.

Voltage-controlled oscillator in the coil

Proceedings of the IEEE 2005 Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, 2005., 2006
In this paper we have examined the effect of devices inside an inductor through simulations and measurements. A voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) was constructed inside an inductor using layout techniques that minimize eddy current loss and magnetic coupling.
