Amplitude and Frequency Control: Stability of Limit Cycles in Phase-Shift and Twin-T Oscillators

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 2008
We show a technique for external direct current (DC) control of the amplitudes of limit cycles both in the Phase-shift and Twin-T oscillators. We have found that amplitudes of the oscillator output voltage depend on the DC control voltage. By varying the

CMOS voltage‐controlled oscillator using inductive dual‐balance source degeneration

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2022
This study reports a voltage‐controlled oscillator (VCO) implemented in a 0.18‐μm CMOS process. By utilizing an inductive dual‐balance source degeneration (IDSD) technique with a current‐reused structure, the proposed VCO improves the phase noise and the

Coating Artificial Spider Silk Fiber with Magnetic FeCo: An Effective Strategy for Creating a Flexible Magneto‐Responsive Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An original method is presented for producing artificial spider silk fibers with magnetic and magnetomechanical responsiveness, which consists in coating them with a nanometer‐thick layer of FeCo alloy by sputtering deposition. The challenge of combining organic materials and inorganic magnetic nanostructures is addressed, thus taking a step forward ...

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

A Robust Oscillator for Embedded System without External Crystal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The robust voltage-controlled oscillator is presented by using the constant current reference and the ring oscillator for the embedded system application. The constant current reference generates the constant current for the succeeding ring oscillator to

High‐Index, Low‐Loss Optical Material Platforms for Ultra‐Broadband Ultraviolet‐to‐Visible Achromatic Metalenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An integrated material platform combining engineered SiNx thin films and printable ZrO2 nanoparticle‐embedded resin enables broadband achromatic metalenses from the ultraviolet to visible range. The demonstrated meta‐optics achieve near‐diffraction‐limited focusing with minimal chromatic aberration.

Silicon-based distributed voltage-controlled oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2001
Distributed voltage-controlled oscillators (DVCOs) are presented as a new approach to the design of silicon VCOs at microwave frequencies. In this paper, the operation of distributed oscillators is analyzed and the general oscillation condition is derived, resulting in analytical expressions for the frequency and amplitude.

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.
