Voltage stability enhancement and Voltage Deviation Minimization using ant-lion optimizer algorithm

2016 2nd International Conference on Advances in Electrical, Electronics, Information, Communication and Bio-Informatics (AEEICB), 2016
In this work, the most common problem of the modern power system named optimal power flow (OPF) is optimized using the novel meta-heuristic optimisation algorithm Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO). ALO is inspired by the hunting mechanism of Ant Lions in the natural environment. ALO has a fast convergence rate due to use of roulette wheel selection method.

Maximum photovoltaic access capacity considering voltage deviation

2017 2nd International Conference on Power and Renewable Energy (ICPRE), 2017
Distributed PV has developed rapidly with the advantages of less geographical limit, large capacity, cleanness and pollution-free. And the increasing grid-connected PV capacity also causes an important impact on the voltage of distribution network. Aimed at the maximum photovoltaic access capacity, this paper studied two typical topologies of open ...

Phase Sensitivity of Relativistic Gyrotrons to Voltage Deviation

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006
Analytical theory for the analysis of phase sensitivity of gyrotron operation to voltage deviation has been developed. Free‐running and phase‐locked devices have been considered and numerical simulations illustrating the effect have been performed. Results of both analytical and numerical approaches are compared and discussed.

Voltage Deviation Influence on Electric Sizes of Lighting Lamps

Journal of Modern Energy Research, 2023
The influence of voltage deviation from the nominal value of 220 V on the illumination of incandescent lamps and arc sodium tubular lamps (HPS) is presented. It has been established that voltage deviations from the nominal value do not affect the illumination of energy-saving and LED lamps.

Evaluation of generation efficiency and voltage deviation in residentail clustered PV voltage control

2011 37th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference, 2011
Installation zero-emission power sources, including photovoltaic power systems (PV), is necessary to cut greenhouse gasses to reduce global warming. In Japan, the target capacity for installed PV in 2020 has been set at 28 GW, which is 20 times the 2005 capacity. PV should be installed in 70 percent of new houses to reach this target.

Electric Field in the Vicinity of High Voltage Deviation Towers

2020 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical And Power Engineering (EPE), 2020
There is a general concern about the impact that high voltage overhead power lines have on the environment, from the most diverse perspectives and points of view. One of the essential items to be addressed and resolved properly is the associated electric and magnetic fields, measured by convention, at a height of 1 m from the ground. Regarding strictly

Mitigating voltage-sag and voltage-deviation problems in distribution networks using battery energy storage systems

Electric Power Systems Research, 2020
Abstract This paper proposes a framework for solving voltage-sag and voltage-deviation problems in distribution networks using battery energy storage systems (BESSs). The proposed framework is divided into two parts. In the first part, a proposed stochastic planning algorithm determines the optimal sizes and locations of the BESSs that mitigate ...

Dynamic performance of residential electronic loads during voltage deviations

2016 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D), 2016
This paper presents test results from various typical residential loads available in the U.S. market, televisions and microwave ovens. The tests were performed at California State University in Long Beach in its High Power Laboratory. First, it will provide an introduction of one of the test procedures used during this test.
