Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

A model based DC analysis of SiPM breakdown voltages

open access: yes, 2017
A new method to determine the breakdown voltage of SiPMs is presented. It is backed up by a DC model which describes the breakdown phenomenon by distinct avalanche turn-on ($V_{01}$) and turn off ($V_{10}$) voltages.

Nutritional and Behavioral Intervention for Long‐Term Childhood Acute Leukemia Survivors With Metabolic Syndrome

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Optimal Placement of DGs in Distribution System Using an Improved Harris Hawks Optimizer Based on Single- and Multi-Objective Approaches

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, improved single- and multi-objective Harris Hawks Optimization algorithms, called IHHO and MOIHHO, respectively are proposed and applied for determining the optimal placement of distribution generation (DG) in the radial distribution ...

Orbital mechanisms of electron spin manipulation by an electric field

open access: yes, 2003
A theory of spin manipulation of quasi-two-dimensional (2D) electrons by a time-dependent gate voltage applied to a quantum well is developed. The Dresselhaus and Rashba spin-orbit coupling mechanisms are shown to be rather efficient for this purpose ...

Analytical description of ballistic spin currents and torques in magnetic tunnel junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we demonstrate explicit analytical expressions for both charge and spin currents which constitute the 2x2 spinor in magnetic tunnel junctions with noncollinear magnetizations under applied voltage. The calculations have been performed within

Unbalanced load flow with hybrid wavelet transform and support vector machine based Error-Correcting Output Codes for power quality disturbances classification including wind energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Purpose. The most common methods to designa multiclass classification consist to determine a set of binary classifiers and to combine them. In this paper support vector machine with Error-Correcting Output Codes (ECOC-SVM) classifier is proposed to ...

The MedSupport Multilevel Intervention to Enhance Support for Pediatric Medication Adherence: Development and Feasibility Testing

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction We developed MedSupport, a multilevel medication adherence intervention designed to address root barriers to medication adherence. This study sought to explore the feasibility and acceptability of the MedSupport intervention strategies to support a future full‐scale randomized controlled trial.
