Feedback effects on the current correlations in Y-shaped conductors

open access: yes, 2005
We study current fluctuations in a Y-shaped conductor connected to external leads with finite impedances. We show that, due to voltage fluctuations in the circuit, the moments of the transferred charges cannot be obtained from simple rescaling of the ...

Universal conductance fluctuations and low temperature 1/f noise in mesoscopic AuFe spin glasses [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We report on intrinsic time-dependent conductance fluctuations observed in mesoscopic AuFe spin glass wires. These dynamical fluctuations have a 1/f-like spectrum and appear below the measured spin glass freezing temperature of our samples.

Changes in Body Composition in Children and Young People Undergoing Treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

DC bus voltage control strategy of PV systems based on fuzzy logic [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) power generation system, sudden changes in the output power of PV panels, caused by fluctuations in solar irradiation or shading, as well as real-time variations in system load, can lead to significant voltage ...

Quantum detectors for the third cumulant of current fluctuations

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the measurement of the third cumulant of current fluctuations arising from a point contact, employing the transitions that they cause in a quantum detector connected to the contact.

Noise in (double) relaxation oscillation SQUIDs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We have modelled the effect of two intrinsic noise sources on the flux noise spectral density of (Double) Relaxation Oscillation SQUIDs ((D)ROSs) based on hysteretic Josephson tunnel junctions.

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

Speed Variation of a Cage Induction Motor under Square Voltage Modulation

open access: yesScientific Journal of Gdynia Maritime University
Cyclic voltage fluctuations can be considered as a superposition of the fundamental voltage component, subharmonic and interharmonic components – that is the components of frequency less than the fundamental one or not being its integer multiple.

Electron–photon correlations and the third moment of quantum noise

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
The radiation generated by a quantum conductor should be correlated with the electrons crossing it. We have measured the correlation between the fluctuations of the high-frequency electromagnetic power generated by a tunnel junction at very low ...

Quantum Hall fluctuations and evidence for charging in the quantum Hall effect

open access: yes, 1999
We find that mesoscopic conductance fluctuations in the quantum Hall regime in silicon MOSFETs display simple and striking patterns. The fluctuations fall into distinct groups which move along lines parallel to loci of integer filling factor in the gate ...
