FAST COMPUTATIONS IN VOLTAGE GRAPH THEORY

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1979
SummaryThis paper introduces convenient algorithms to determine two properties of the covering space derived from a voltage assignment on an imbedded graph. One algorithm is to count the number of components of the covering. The other is to decide when the covering surface is orientable.

The 3D graph approach for breakdown voltage calculation in BaTiO3 ceramics

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2021
After pioneering attempts for the introduction of graph theory in the field of ceramics and microstructures, where 1D and 2D graphs were used, in this paper we applied 3D graphs for the breakdown voltage calculation in BaTiO3 sample with some predefined constraints.

Graph Algorithms for Topology Identification in Electrical Medium Voltage Grids

2023 58th International Universities Power Engineering Conference (UPEC), 2023
The availability of realistic grid topologies is of central importance for the usability of grid models in calculations. However, especially in distribution grids, poor documentation, limited digitization and insufficient data quality can lead to faulty topologies, which result in errors in subsequent calculations.

Current and voltage graphs of a composite graph

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 1974
AbstractFrom a given composite graph two graphs are derived, which can be interpreted as current and voltage graphs, respectively. It is shown that a complete tree of both graphs is a directed tree of the composite graph. Thus the generation of directed trees is reduced to the generation of complete trees. The matrix belonging to the composite graph is

Voltage collapse analysis in a graph theoretical framework

2015 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Latin America (ISGT LATAM), 2015
Voltage collapse is a type of failure with major influence in blackouts. Blackouts, although infrequent, are costly to society. For the Smart grid, integration of new technologies, new policies, and increasing power demand makes the power system becoming more disturbed, which increases the possibility of voltage collapses of all size.

Applications of ordinary voltage graph theory to graph embeddability

Journal of Graph Theory, 2017
AbstractLet p be a prime greater than 5. We show that, while the generalized Petersen graphs of the form have cellular toroidal embeddings, they have no such embeddings having the additional property that a free action of a group on the graph extends to a cellular automorphism of the torus. Such an embedding is called a derived embedding. We also show

On Modeling Voltage Phasor Measurements as Graph Signals

2019 IEEE Data Science Workshop (DSW), 2019
While the graph theoretic properties pertaining to the electrical grid are well known, the field of graph signal processing offers new insights and understanding about the measurements from the electrical grid. In this paper we establish that voltage measurements are the result of a low-rank excitation to a low-pass graph filter.
