Multi-scale heat transfer path optimization in magnetic-thermal coupling simulation of winding conductors using graph neural networks

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal
This study proposes a GNN-based multi-scale heat transfer path optimization method for magnetic-thermal coupling simulation of wound conductors. Key parameters like magnetic vector potential, flux density, and temperature distribution are identified.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A Novel (DDCC-SFG)-Based Systematic Design Technique of Active Filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper proposes a novel idea for the synthesis of active filters that is based on the use of signal-flow graph (SFG) stamps of differential difference current conveyors (DDCCs).

Transport Processes on Homogeneous Planar Graphs with Scale-Free Loops

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the role of network geometry in two types of diffusion processes: transport of constant-density information packets with queuing on nodes, and constant voltage-driven tunneling of electrons.

An Optimal and Distributed Method for Voltage Regulation in Power Distribution Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper addresses the problem of voltage regulation in power distribution networks with deep-penetration of distributed energy resources, e.g., renewable-based generation, and storage-capable loads such as plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. We cast the

The medial graph and voltage- current duality

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1992
The author examines both current graphs and voltage graphs, utilizing the medial graph: a 4-regular graph derived from an imbedded graph encoding both the primal and the dual graphs. New insights into voltage-current duality, including wrapped coverings, are obtained. A method is developed for simultaneously giving a voltage and a current assignment on

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Contact angle influence on the pull-in voltage of microswitches in the presence of capillary and quantum vacuum effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Capillary condensation between the electrodes of microswitches influences the effective pull-in voltage in a manner that depends on the contact angle of the capillary meniscus and the presence of plate surface roughness.
