Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

COMPUTER SIMULATION OF INTERMITTENT CURRENT MODE OF DC ELECTRIC DRIVE WITH THREE-PHASE CONTROLLED RECTIFIER

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics, 2018
Introduction. The mode of intermittent current for DC motor with three-phase thyristor rectifier appears in the idle intervals of some mechanisms. Active and passive filters reduce the variable component of the rectified voltage.

Experimental performance of a 1-kilowatt arcjet thruster [PDF]

open access: yes
A formerly unused cathode and anode/nozzle assembly from a flight model arcjet was tested with nitrogen, hydrogen, and nitrogen-hydrogen mixture simulating ammonia decomposition products at arc power levels from about 300 to 950 W.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Voltage-mode multiphase sinusoidal oscillators using CBTAs

open access: yes2012 35th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2012
A voltage-mode multiphase sinusoidal oscillator (MSO) structure using current backward transconductance amplifier (CBTA) is presented. The oscillator can generate n voltage signals (n being even or odd) equally spaced in phase. n+1 CBTAs, n grounded capacitor and a grounded resistor are used for nth-state oscillator.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
