Objective This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the Worldwide Collaboration ...

High performance dc-dc conversion with voltage multipliers [PDF]
The voltage multipliers using capacitors and diodes first developed by Cockcroft and Walton in 1932 were reexamined in terms of state of the art fast switching transistors and diodes, and high energy density capacitors. Because of component improvements,

Coarse roll-rate gain-control circuit [PDF]
Circuit is used in spin-rate computing unit of control system for solar pointing rocket during its acquisition mode. Direction cosines from magnetometers and coarse sun sensors derive function that is approximately roll-rate times sum of absolute value ...

Objective Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a severe extra‐articular manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This study aimed to externally validate a genetic risk score (GRS) and a combined risk score (CRS) for predicting the risk of RA‐associated PF in an independent cohort of patients with early RA.

Medium power voltage multipliers with a large number of stages [PDF]
Voltage multiplier techniques are extended at medium power levels to larger multiplication ratios. A series of dc-dc converters were built, with from 20 to 45 stages and with power levels up to 100 watts.

Addressing Economic Insecurities Can Improve Patient‐Reported Outcomes in Lupus
Background Economic insecurities, such as food, housing, transportation, and financial challenges, are modifiable risk factors and influence patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We examined: 1) associations between economic insecurities and PROs; 2) the impact of screening and addressing economic insecurities during ...

Low-voltage, four-quadrant, analogueCMOS multiplier
A CMOS four quadrant analogue multiplier that can operate from a supply voltage of 1.5 V is described. The multiplier requires two linear transconductors whose input transistors are operated in their linear region. Simulation results indicate that the nonlinearity can be kept below 0.8%, across the entire differential input voltage range of +or-400 mV.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

The effect of temperature controllers that are commonly used in freeze‐casting is investigated in this work. Temperature controllers are observed to generate a voltage in the slurry. Microstructural alignment and ultimate compressive strength data show this voltage to interfere with the ability to align the microstructure using magnetic fields ...

A Schottky/2-DEG varactor diode for millimeter and submillimeter wave multiplier applications [PDF]
A new Schottky diode is investigated for use as a multiplier element in the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength regions. The new diode is based on the Schottky contact at the edge of a 2-dimensional electron gas (2-DEG).
