A New Voltage SAG Detection Algorithm for Dynamic Voltage Restore
2011Conventional DQ transformation method and the PLL technology can detect the amplitude and phase of voltage sag accurately, but the method is only applicable to the case of symmetrical three phase voltage. When three phase voltage unbalance, there is a certain bias in the results by use of this detection method.

Voltage Sag Detection Method Based on Wavelet Information
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015Voltage sag is the major power quality problem and receives wide attention. Although wavelet analysis works well for detecting voltage sag features, the existence of noise can reduce the advantages of wavelet method or even make it ineffective. To solve the problem, the paper uses multi-scale wavelet information by multiplying the results of several ...

Detection of voltage sag using unscented Kalman smoother
2010 9th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2010A novel method based on Kalman algorithm is proposed in this paper to estimate the amplitude and the time duration of voltage sag in power systems. The new method uses the unscented transform and the RTS algorithm to have a smoother and optimal tracking response.

Wavelet Based Voltage Sag Characterization and Detection Method
2019 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (UPCON), 2019In this paper, a novel technique of voltage sag characterization and detection have been presented. In the proposed work, firstly, two types of data inputs, namely, peak, and fundamental component values of voltage signal, have been derived from IEEE test waveform of instantaneous voltage signal. Then, these two derived and one test waveform data, i.e.,

Detecting the Origin of the Voltage Sags Measured in the Smart Grids
2019 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power (ICCEP), 2019Two different hybrid methods (HM) were considered and compared in distribution systems with distributed generation (DG) units for ascertaining the systems where measured voltage sags originated. These methods, namely M1 and M2, use only the measured voltage during the fault at the medium voltage (MV) busbars of the high voltage/medium voltage (HVIMV ...

A novel universal grid voltage sag detection algorithm
2012 Power Engineering and Automation Conference, 2012Low voltage rid through (LVRT) requires a wind turbine controller to be able to provide rapid response to any power grid voltage sag, which in turn demands a rapid and accurate detection technique of power grid voltage sag. Different voltage sag detection methods have been proposed, such as peak voltage detection, root mean square (RMS) detection ...

A fast voltage sag detector based on peak detection
2015 12th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON), 2015In this paper, a fast voltage sag detector based on peak detection is proposed. In the proposed method, the (−90)-degree phase shifter is used to generate an orthogonal AC voltage (cosine wave, V cos ) from the existing AC supply voltage (sine wave, V sin ). The differentiator is designed to function as this phase shifter.
