Dynamic Voltage Restorer For Voltage Sag Compensation
2005 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drives Systems, 2006The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a power electronic device that is used to inject 3-phase voltage in series and in synchronism with the distribution feeder voltages in order to compensate for voltage sag. In this paper the operation of a DVR is presented.

Performance of Matrix converter as a voltage sag compensator for linear loads has been described in this chapter. In power quality (PQ) parlance, the term voltage sag is used to designate a dip in the supply voltage magnitude over a small time duration which can extend over few cycles [48, 49].

Detecting transient voltage stability and voltage sag
COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2004This paper presents method to discriminate between transient voltage stability and voltage sag. The discrete wavelet transform (WT) is a powerful tool in the analysis of the transient phenomena in power systems because of its ability to extract information in both the time and frequency domain.

Voltage sag compensation with energy optimized dynamic voltage restorer
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2002The compensation capability of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) depends primarily on the maximum voltage injection ability and the amount of stored energy available within the restorer. A new phase advance compensation (PAC) strategy for the DVR is proposed in order to enhance the voltage restoration property of the device.

Voltage Sag Detection Technique for a Dynamic Voltage Restorer
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2003Dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) are used to protect sensitive loads from the effects of voltage sags on the distribution feeder. This paper presents and verifies a novel voltage sag detection technique for use in conjunction with the main control system of a DVR.

In this paper, dual low pass filter (DLPF)-based voltage sag detection for voltage sag compensator under distorted grid is proposed. The conventional synchronously rotating reference frame (CSRRF)-based voltage sag detection is the most famous voltage sag detection method in the past. However it has a huge disadvantage as a long delay of detection time.

Control of a PMSG Wind-Turbine Under Asymmetrical Voltage Sags Using Sliding Mode Approach
IEEE Power and Energy Technology Systems Journal, 2018The control and operation of a grid-connected wind-turbine with a permanent magnet synchronous generator have been investigated under asymmetrical voltage sags at the grid side. To deal with such conditions, a fast-acting control scheme is needed.

Voltage sag detection - A survey
2009 International Conference for Technical Postgraduates (TECHPOS), 2009Voltage sag has been the focus of considerable research in recent years. It can cause expensive downtime. Research on voltage sag detection has also grown up and it is an essential part of the voltage sag compensator. There are many methods have been introduced to measure and detect voltage sags.

A fast single-phase voltage sag detection for voltage sag compensation system
TENCON 2014 - 2014 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2014This paper proposes a fast single-phase voltage sag detection for voltage sag compensation system. The operation of proposed method is based on synchronously rotating reference frame which provides fast and accurate voltage sag detection. a proposed fast single-phase voltage sag detection uses the differentiator as a (−90)-degree phase shifter to ...

Component-minimized voltage sag compensators
Conference Record of the 2002 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 37th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.02CH37344), 2003This paper presents new converter topologies for low-power voltage sag compensators, based on the elimination of the series transformer and the utilization of converter structures with reduced number of semiconductor switches. The main aspects for the specification of the components and a design example are described, along with a simulation study ...
