Voltage sag analysis case studies
Conference Record Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Technical Conference 1993, 1993This paper summarizes the results from a number of different voltage sag investigations. These investigations involve characterizing the voltage sag performance at a customer facility and evaluating equipment sensitivity to different voltage sag magnitudes and durations. Possible solutions to voltage sag sensitivity problems are also described. >

Voltage sags and their characterization
2010 International Conference on Power, Control and Embedded Systems, 2010Voltage sags are short duration reductions in rms voltage caused by short circuits, overloads and starting of large motors. Voltage sag is much more of a global problem. For proper analysis and mitigation of voltage sag, their characterization is important. The magnitude and durations are main characteristics of voltage sag.

System Voltage Sag Performance Estimation
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2005This paper describes an analytical method for evaluating the voltage sag performance of a power-supply distribution network. The severity of voltage sag, as a result of system fault, is quantified by its magnitude and duration, and illustrated using a voltage sag density table.

Voltage sags in industrial systems
Conference Record. Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Technical Conference 1991, 1993A description is given of the causes of voltage sags in industrial plants, their impact on equipment operation, and possible solutions. The definition proposed focuses on system faults as the major cause of voltage sags. The sensitivity of different types of industrial equipment, including adjustable speed drive controls, programmable logic controllers,

Overview of voltage sag mitigation
2000 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37077), 2002This paper gives an overview of methods used in the mitigation of voltage sags. Different solutions for improving the performance of the power system, as well as the immunity of the equipment, are described. Finally, mitigation devices to be installed at the system-load interface for power quality enhancement are presented.

Tutorial on voltage sag analysis
Ninth International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX441), 2002Voltage sags are known as a serious problem causing mal-operation of equipment like computers, process controllers and adjustable-speed drives. In this tutorial various analysis techniques for voltage sags are introduced: characterization of individual sags from measurements as well as from theoretical calculations; stochastic assessment (prediction ...

Voltage sag source location identification
IET Conference Publications, 2009In recent years several methods have been proposed to identifying the voltage sag source location. The basis of most of these methods is to determine if the source originated upstream or down stream from the monitoring location. This study proposes a method that is capable of identifying the voltage sag originated bus.
