Abnormal Voltages within Transformers
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1919Mathematical analysis is made of a rectangular wave impinging upon a transformer winding and quantitative values deduced of the resulting internal voltage stresses in terms of transformer constants. It is shown that the conclusions also apply in part to abrupt impulses and approximate idea is given of the reaction of a transformer to high frequencies ...

Capacitor voltage transformers
Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1936The paper describes in a general way that class of voltage transformer which the authors propose should be termed the "capacitor voltage transformer" as distinct from the conventional electromagnetic voltage transformer. No claim is made for presenting any new principles of design, the main purpose of the paper being to establish a wider understanding ...

Electrical Engineering, 2020
An original electric transformer was developed. The transformer generates a high AC voltage from a low-voltage AC. The input AC voltage generates an axial vibration in the electrodynamic actuator. The axial vibration is transmitted to piezoelectric crystals which are polarized in the axial direction and generates the output voltage.

High Voltage Multi-Purpose Current and Voltage Electronic Transformer
2007 IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Technology Conference IMTC 2007, 2007The evolution of electronics technology and digital signal processing is making competitive methods and devices for the design and development of measurement transformers for HV systems deeply different from those based on the traditional electromagnetic principle. Several advantages are offered by the new solutions: higher metrological characteristics,

Abnormal voltages in transformers
Proceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1915This paper deals with the electrical behavior of transformer windings when subjected to steep wave fronts and high-frequency wave trains. The dependence of the internal voltages produced, upon the distribution of capacity with the inductance of the winding, is discussed.

Transformer less voltage regulator
2014 International Conference on Green Computing Communication and Electrical Engineering (ICGCCEE), 2014This paper proposes a single phase ac-ac transformer less voltage regulator. The proposed techniques can operate in buck or boost mode depends on the desired output voltage. The proposed system employs a pulse width modulation (PWM) ac-ac converter along with feed forward and PID close loop control.

VOLTAGE-REGULATING AUTO-TRANSFORMER
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1932A transformer is compounded by connecting some or all of the primary windings differentially in series with the secondary so that load voltage is constant through a wide range irrespective of changes in primary line voltage.

Transformers for high-voltage systems
Journal of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1923The designs of transformers for 220-kv. systems do not represent radical departures from designs which have become standard for lower voltages. The solidly grounded neutral system is used and advantage is taken of this to use graded insulation and reduced voltage test. Auto-transformers are used to connect between the 220-kv.

High Voltage Ceramic Transformers
IRE Transactions on Broadcast and Television Receivers, 1962A ceramic transformer made from a piezoelectric material such as polarized BaTiO3 can be designed to have a voltage step-up of about 60 at 15 KC/S. The design of such a transformer is described. Equations giving step-up ratio and losses as a function of piezoelectric coefficients and transformer dimensions are derived.
