This paper discusses voltage disturbances and their affect on sensitive-loads. The paper is not a comprehensive discussion but it details some of the troublesome aspects that have come to light during the past few years. Methods of minimising the problems caused by distortion are also discussed.

This paper presents a new method to characterize and detect the type of voltage sag through complex voltage unbalance factor (CVUF). Different types of voltage dip due to unbalance faults in power system are evaluated in term of CVUF and an attempt is made to characterize and detect the types of dip through this factor.

Impact of unbalance voltage dips on the behavior of voltage source inverters

This paper discusses the impact of balanced and unbalanced voltage dips on grid connected voltage source inverters, usually found in wind turbines. A Kalman filter synchronization method is used to provide an accurate and fast extraction of the voltage positive sequence under unbalanced voltage dips.
