Voltage unbalance emission assessment in radial power systems

2013 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2012
Voltage unbalance (VU) emission assessment is an integral part in the VU-management process where loads are allocated a portion of the unbalance absorption capacity of the power system. The International Electrotechnical Commission Report IEC/TR 61000-3-13:2008 prescribes a VU emission allocation methodology establishing the fact that the VU can arise ...

Effects of PEV Penetration on Voltage Unbalance

2014
Balancing loads in low voltage networks is a challenging task due to a continuous fluctuation in the power demand. Voltage unbalance is a condition in which the voltage phasors differ in amplitude and/or do not have its normal 120° phase relationship.

Type detection of voltage sags through voltage unbalance factor

2012 IEEE 15th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power, 2012
This paper presents a new method to characterize and detect the type of voltage sag through complex voltage unbalance factor (CVUF). Different types of voltage dip due to unbalance faults in power system are evaluated in term of CVUF and an attempt is made to characterize and detect the types of dip through this factor.

Assessment of harmonic distortion and voltage unbalance

IEE Seminar on Power - it's a Quality Thing, 2005
The talk will concentrate on the assessment of harmonic distortions and phase unbalance from polluting loads. It will cover the Stage 3 assessment of ER G5/4 including setting of harmonic emission limits. It will also include causes of phase unbalance with some examples and alternative solutions once an issue is identified. (15 pages)

Analysis of Current Unbalance and Torque Ripple Generated by Simulations of Voltage Unbalance in Induction Motors

2017
In this paper the effects of voltage unbalance in both the Complex Current Unbalance Factor (CCUF) and the Torque Ripple Factor (TRF) of a three-phase induction motor have been discussed. The effects of 13060 points of voltage unbalance taken around the limit of standards (VUF = 2%) have been analyzed, since the largest number of international ...
