COMPOSITION AND VOLUME OF FLUID SWALLOWED BY FETAL SHEEP
Quarterly Journal of Experimental Physiology, 1984Oesophageal cannulations were performed in seven fetal sheep between 109 and 128 d of gestation. Fluid swallowed by the fetuses was collected externally and periodically returned to the fetal stomach by a peristaltic pump. The volume of fluid swallowed daily was calculated from the movement of water in a parallel pump circuit.

A simple device for measuring nanolitre volumes of fluid
Experientia, 1980A piece of apparatus designed to measure nl-volumes of fluid has been constructed to fit into a Leitz micromanipular so that the small sample volumes can easily be transferred.

Noniterative interface reconstruction algorithms for volume of fluid method
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2013SUMMARYIn this paper, noniterative interface reconstruction algorithms for volume of fluid (VOF) method are presented. Analytical expressions are derived to determine the coefficients of the curve to achieve a noniterative reconstruction procedure. Static interface reconstruction tests of standard geometries like circle and ellipse are performed.

The dialysis of small volumes of fluid
The Analyst, 1969A simple, non-metallic closure for small dialysis tubing is described. In a smaller-scale procedure the 5 to 50 µl of solution to be dialysed are placed on a circle of cellophane, 7·5 mm in diameter, held by suction to the upper end of a vertical tube containing water or saline, which may or may not be continuously renewed.

The volume of fluid method in spherical coordinates
International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 2000The volume of fluid (VOF) method is a numerical technique to track the developing free surfaces of liquids in motion. This method can, for example, be applied to compute the liquid flow patterns in a rotating cone reactor. For this application a spherical coordinate system is most suited.

Volume of Fluid Model of Open Channel Contraction
Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series C, 2014In the present paper, the effect of channel contraction has been studied using FLUENT. Contracted channels having three different contraction ratios (0.77, 0.61, and 0.44) have been investigated. The effect of channel contraction on the vertical profiles of longitudinal mean velocity, turbulence intensity, turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) and turbulent ...

Volume of Fluid Method: A Brief Review
Journal of the Indian Institute of ScienceUnderstanding and predicting multiphase flows is of great relevance due to the ubiquitous nature of such flows in both nature and in many industrial applications. Rapid development of high speed computers and problem-specific algorithms in the last 2 decades has enabled the study of multiphase flows through numerical simulations. In this paper, we give

Advection of axisymmetric interfaces by the volume‐of‐fluid method
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 1995AbstractA criterion is proposed for the advection of axisymmetric interfaces. The location of an interface is followed by a volume‐tracking technique wherein a volume fraction parameter is assigned to each of the cells in a Eulerian grid system.
