A three-dimensional robust volume-of-fluid solver based on the adaptive mesh refinement
The present study provides a three-dimensional volume-of-fluid method based on the adaptive mesh refinement technique. The projection method on the adaptive mesh is introduced for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.

Direct numerical simulation of wave propagation in saturated random granular packings using coupled LBM-DEM [PDF]
Poroelasticity theory predicts wave velocities in a saturated porous medium through a coupling between the bulk deformation of the solid skeleton and porous fluid flow.

CFD Investigation of Parameters Affecting Oil-Water Stratified Flow in a Channel [PDF]
Stratified flow is a common occurrence for various internal flow based industrial multiphase flow patterns. This involves fully or partially well-defined interface which continuously evolve with space and time.

Modeling of vertical microplastic transport by rising bubbles
Microplastic particle concentration at the sea surface is critical for quantifying microplastic transport across the water-air interface. Previous studies suggest that the concentration at the sea surface is enhanced compared to bulk concentration, yet ...
