Volume Scattering Function of Seawater

An advanced method of measuring the volume scattering function (VSF) of seawater and a unique instrument based on this method are presented. The approach differs from traditional ones and involves the use of a special periscope prism that allows to determine VSF directly over a wide range of angles (0.5°–178°).
