Volume-Based Thermodynamics: Estimations for 2:2 Salts
Inorganic Chemistry, 2006The lattice energy of an ionic crystal, U(POT), can be expressed as a linear function of the inverse cube root of its formula unit volume (i.e., Vm(-1/3)); thus, U(POT) approximately 2I(alpha/Vm(1/3) + beta), where alpha and beta are fitted constants and I is the readily calculated ionic strength factor of the lattice.

Holography, magnetic fields and thermodynamic volumes
2015This dissertation explores the application of gauge/gravity duality to gauge theories of interest in condensed matter physics, as well as thermodynamic volumes. ? Four?dimensional gravity with a U(1) gauge field, coupled to various fields in asymptotically anti?de Sitter spacetime, provides a rich arena for the holographic study of the strongly coupled

Volume fluctuation thermodynamics of polymer solutions
Macromolecules, 1991The idea of «volume fluctuation thermodynamics» is formally developed to show in general terms how solution properties are affected by finite compressibility and by the mismatch in pure-component equation of state ...
