Paper-Derived Millimeter-Thick Yarn Supercapacitors Enabling High Volumetric Energy Density
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022Solid-state supercapacitors have shown extraordinary promise for flexible and wearable electronics. To date, they are still limited by relatively poor energy volumetric performances, which are largely determined by the pore structures and physicochemical properties of electrode materials. Moreover, the poor mechanical properties afforded because of the

Improving the Volumetric Energy Density of Supercapacitors
Electrochimica Acta, 2016Abstract Due to the low double-layer capacitance of activated carbons ( −2 ) and to their low density related to their large micro/meso porosity, the volumetric energy density of commercial supercapacitors remains low. Therefore, the use of pseudocapacitive oxides or nitrides as electrode materials can drastically improve the volumetric performance ...

Strategy of Enhancing the Volumetric Energy Density for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries
Advanced Materials, 2020AbstractLithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries hold the promise of the next generation energy storage system beyond state‐of‐the‐art lithium‐ion batteries. Despite the attractive gravimetric energy density (WG), the volumetric energy density (WV) still remains a great challenge for the practical application, based on the primary requirement of Small and Light

Abstract The practical application of energy storage device requires high areal/volumetric energy density. One of the strategies is to design bulk electrode with hierarchical porous structure for the application of supercapacitor. Significantly, the energy storage electrochemical performance of the bulk electrode is highly influenced by the pore ...

We develop zirconium-templated NiO/NiOOH nanosheets on nickel foam and polypyrrole-embedded in exfoliated carbon fiber cloth as complementary electrodes for an asymmetric battery-type supercapacitor device. We achieve high volumetric energy and power density by the modification of commercially available current collectors (CCs).

Volumetric breast density estimation using dual energy digital breast tomosynthesis
Medical Imaging 2020: Physics of Medical Imaging, 2020Dense breast tissue has been shown to reduce the sensitivity and specificity of breast cancer detection. Estimation of breast density (BD) in digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) may provide masking risk assessment in quasi three dimensions (3D). Dual energy (DE) mammography has been used for breast tissue decomposition, which may provide more accurate ...
