Formal and Informal Social Care in People With Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases: A Cross‐Sectional Multicenter Survey

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) are leading causes of physical disability, necessitating support with activities of daily living. This study describes social care received by patients with RMDs in two disparate regions of England: Salford (urban) and Norfolk (rural).

Major limb loss (MLL): an overview of etiology, outcomes, experiences and challenges faced by amputees and service providers in the post-conflict period in Northern Uganda

open access: yesJournal of Global Health Reports, 2019
# Background Trauma is a leading cause for major limb loss (MLL) during war. As societies transition into peace other factors become important. The voluntary sector plays a diminishing role in service delivery as countries transition towards peace ...

Integrating Patient‐Reported Quality Measures in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: Development of the American College of Rheumatology Implementation Guide

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To support high‐quality, patient‐centered care for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) developed evidence‐based measures incorporating clinical and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), we conducted semistructured interviews ...

Portable Breathing Monitoring With Phase‐Resolved Airflow Dynamics Enabled by a Dual‐Response Flexible PZT Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A portable respiratory monitoring device based on a flexible PZT sensor captures pressure‐ and temperature‐related airflow responses in a single waveform. Polarity‐opposed piezoelectric and pyroelectric components generate a narrow transient spike and a broad quasi‐steady peak during both inhalation and exhalation. This dual‐component structure enables

Recoding the gift relationship: views on introducing genomic testing to blood donation

open access: yesNew Genetics and Society
This study examines how the institutional context informs the ways in which healthy recipients relate to genomic information. Through focus group data, it considers the trend of blood collection agencies (BCA) moving to extend donor genotyping.

Evaluating the combined effectiveness of influenza control strategies and human preventive behavior.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Control strategies enforced by health agencies are a major type of practice to contain influenza outbreaks. Another type of practice is the voluntary preventive behavior of individuals, such as receiving vaccination, taking antiviral drugs, and wearing ...

Microsphere‐Templated Conductive Syntactic Foams for Recyclable and Additively Manufactured Soft Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

Double‐Sided Mechanical Interlocking Enables Soft‐Rigid Conductive Interfaces With a Record High Toughness for Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A double‐sided mechanical interlocking strategy is developed to create robust electrical contact between polymer electrode and metal interconnect. The fibrous structure enables formation of thread–hole adhesion, which only breaks under bulk failure and achieves a record high interfacial energy exceeding 730 J·m−2. This adhesion secures the integrity of
