Establishing an Improved Cellular Photoaging Model by Repeated UVA Exposure of Human Skin Fibroblasts

open access: yesSkin Research and Technology, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Repeated ultraviolet A (UVA) exposure‐induced cellular photoaging models had been widely applicated to study skin photoaging. However, there is no standard protocol to prepare these models and cell passaging is inevitably needed when fibroblasts are cultured in conventional media for 5–7 days.

Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision to Prevent HIV: Modelling Age Prioritization in Namibia [PDF]

open access: yesAIDS and Behavior, 2019
Voluntary Medical Male circumcision (VMMC) has been part of prevention in Namibia since 2009. Yet, as of 2013, VMMC coverage among 15- to 24-year-olds was estimated at less than 22%. Program data suggests uptake of VMMC below age 15 is lower than expected, given the age distribution of the eligible population. Nearly 85% of VMMCs were for males between

Cuproptosis Facilitates Chronic Skin Inflammation by Regulating the α‐Ketoglutarate/H3K4me3/Ferritin Heavy Chain 1 Signaling Pathway‐Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Cuproptosis plays critical roles in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD). SLC31A1‐mediated cuproptosis increases α‐ketoglutarate, activating KDM5B, which demethylates H3K4me3 domains in FTH1, lowering its transcription and promoting ferroptosis, thus advancing inflammatory skin diseases.
