Neogastropod (Mollusca, Gastropoda) phylogeny: A step forward with mitogenomes. [PDF]
Abstract The Neogastropoda (Mollusca, Gastropoda) encompass more than 15,000 described species of marine predators, including several model organisms in toxinology, embryology and physiology. However, their phylogenetic relationships remain mostly unresolved and their classification unstable.

Taxonomic review of the genus Adelomelon (Gastropoda; Volutidae), based on type material [PDF]
The genus Adelomelon Dall, 1906 comprises a group of South American marine gastropods. We present updated information on the genus Adelomelon, with emphasis on the status and location of type material, including that of junior synonyms. Scaphella arnheimi Rivers, 1891 and Voluta paradoxa Lahille, 1895 are removed from the synonymy of Adelomelon ancilla

Origin of the tropical–polar biodiversity contrast
Abstract Aim The aim was to investigate the evolutionary origins of the striking biodiversity contrast between high‐ and low‐latitude regions in the present day. Is this a relatively recent phenomenon, causally linked in some way to the greenhouse–icehouse transition and onset of global cooling c.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Harpovoluta charcoti (Gastropoda: Neogastropoda: Volutidae) [PDF]
We report the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Harpovoluta charcoti, a circum-Antarctic species of volutid gastropod inhabiting bathyal soft bottom substrates. The mitogenome is 15,487 bp in length, has a base composition of A (28.3%), T (37.3%), C (16.0%) and G (18.4%), and contains 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 ...

Spermatogenesis in the marine snail Adelomelon ancilla (Volutidae) from Patagonia [PDF]
This study describes euspermatogenesis and paraspermatogenesis in Adelomelon ancilla (Volutidae) and compares them with the same processes in other caenogastropods. Spermatogenesis in A. ancilla followed the general developmental pattern of caenogastropods.

THE NEOGENE VOLUTIDAE (GASTROPODA: NEOGASTROPODA) FROM THE PACIFIC COAST OF CHILE
Abstract Fourteen species of Volutidae are recognized from the Neogene of central to southern Chile. Seven species are known from previous descriptions: Voluta triplicata, V. alta, V. domeykoana, V. obesa, V. vidali, Proscaphella taverai, and Adelomelon reconditus. A neotype is designated for Voluta alta.
