Development of Reusable Electrochemiluminescence Sensing Microchip for Detection of Vomitoxin
Talanta, 2023In this work, a reusable DNA sensing microchip was developed for detection of vomitoxin (deoxynivalenol, DON) in sorghum using Cd-based core-shell CdSe@CdS quantum dots (QDs) as promising electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitter. The size-adjustable aqueous phase CdSe@CdS QDs were prepared through homogeneous method, exhibiting strong cathodic ECL ...

QuickTox™ Kit for QuickScan DON (Vomitoxin)
Journal of AOAC International, 2013The QuickTox Kit for QuickScan DON (Vomitoxin) uses lateral flow technology and a reader-based system for the quantification of deoxynivalenol (DON, vomitoxin) residues in cereal grain commodities. The present work was performed to obtain AOAC Research Institute Performance Tested MethodsM certification for testing wheat, maize, wheat bran, wheat flour,

Vomitoxin in Corn Fed to Young Pigs
Journal of Animal Science, 1983Four trials were conducted with young pigs to evaluate the effect of dietary level of vomitoxin-contaminated corn on performance and pathology. A dietary level of approximately 20 ppm vomitoxin caused vomiting, 12 ppm vomitoxin caused almost complete feed refusal and 1.3 ppm caused a significant depression in feed intake and rate Of gain.

Differential immune modulation by deoxynivalenol (vomitoxin) in mice
Toxicology Letters, 2013Mycotoxin deoxynivalenol (DON), a secondary metabolite produced by Fusarium fungi, is a contaminant in wheat, barley, and corn worldwide. It has been suggested that DON exhibits toxicity in various organs. Due to the lack of immunotoxicity data for DON, we investigated the differential immunomodulatory effects of DON in mice.
