Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

Comparison between traditional models and artificial neural networks as estimators of the growth of the Tigris scraper Capoeta umbla (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) in the Munzur River, Turkey

open access: yesRevista Científica
In this study, a comparison of traditional growth methods (length-weight relationships and von Bertalanffy growth function) with artificial neural networks in growth models was carried out in the growth of 783 specimens of Capoeta umbla from the Munzur ...

Curvas de crescimento em ovinos da raça morada nova criados no estado da Bahia Growth curves in morada nova sheep raised in the state of Bahia

Financial Inclusion for Smallholders: Integrating a Resource Nexus Approach Into Agricultural Finance Systems

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Smallholder farmers remain structurally excluded from the current agricultural finance system. Existing research in this area examines financial inclusion through fragmented environmental, social, and economic lenses, limiting system‐level understanding.

Symmetries and solutions of the non-autonomous von Bertalanffy equation

open access: yesCommunications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, 2015
Consider the generalized Bertalanffy equation \[ {dN\over dt}= \alpha(t)N^\beta -a(t)N^b+ \psi(t),\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(N\) describes the size of a population. The authors use Lie symmetry methods to determine constraints on the functions \(\alpha(t)\), \(a(t)\) and \(\psi(t)\) which allow nontrivial symmetries to exist for \((*)\).

Analysis Von Bertalanffy equation with variation coefficient [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Growth is the increase of size, both its length and weight at a specific time period. In studying the behavior of the growth of fish used a growth model that is Von Bertalanffy models.

(Dis)information Systems: a Systemic View of Disinformation

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Disinformation is an ancient social phenomenon that has found a favourable environment for dissemination in internet‐based social networks. While the scientific community seeks to address the problem by creating specific tools to detect and classify the various types of false information, we argue that systems thinking is necessary to ...

Age structure and growth of the rough scad, Trachurus lathami (Teleostei: Carangidae), in the Southeastern Brazilian Bight

open access: yesZoologia (Curitiba), 2017
The rough scad, Trachurus lathami Nichols, 1920, is a small pelagic species distributed along the West Atlantic coast. It is most abundant in the Southern Brazil (28°30’-34°S) and in the Southeastern Brazilian Bight (SEBB, 22°-28°30’S). The rough scad is
