Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.

Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, 2015 Consider the generalized Bertalanffy equation \[ {dN\over dt}= \alpha(t)N^\beta -a(t)N^b+ \psi(t),\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(N\) describes the size of a population. The authors use Lie symmetry methods to determine constraints on the functions \(\alpha(t)\), \(a(t)\) and \(\psi(t)\) which allow nontrivial symmetries to exist for \((*)\).
