VORONOI DIAGRAMS IN A RIVER

International Journal of Computational Geometry & Applications, 1992
A new generalized Voronoi diagram is defined on the surface of a river with uniform flow; a point belongs to the territory of a site if and only if a boat starting from the site can reach the point faster than a boat starting from any other site. If the river runs slower than the boat, the Voronoi diagram has the same topological structure as the ...

Hyperbolic Voronoi Diagram

2006
Voronoi diagrams are among the most extensively studied objects in computational geometry with useful applications in different areas of science. To understand impacts of non-Euclidean geometry on computational geometry, this paper investigates the Voronoi diagram in hyperbolic space specially the one in the Poincare hyperbolic disk, which is a 2 ...

Approximation of Generalized Voronoi Diagrams by Ordinary Voronoi Diagrams

CVGIP: Graphical Models and Image Processing, 1993
Abstract A numerically robust algorithm for the ordinary Voronoi diagrams is applied to the approximation of various types of generalized Voronoi diagrams. The generalized Voronoi diagrams treated here include Voronoi diagrams for figures, additively weighted Voronoi diagrams, Voronoi diagrams in a river, Voronoi diagrams in a Riemannian plane, and ...

Optimization in Voronoi Diagrams

1994
In this paper, we present an algorithm for optimal image segmentation using the Voronoi diagram and the Delaunay graph. The Voronoi diagram is a powerful tool for shape description and image segmentation. The Delaunay graph is used to describe the neighborhood of each Voronoi region. This graph is used to optimize the image segmentation.

Semi Voronoi Diagrams

2011
We consider a problem that is a variant of the Voronoi diagram problem on the Euclidean plane, with the association of a given direction $\vec{d_i}$ to each point pi in P. For each pi, the direction $\vec{d_i}$ defines a visible half plane of pi. A point p in the plane is said to be controlled by pi if: (1) p is visible to pi; (2) among all the points ...

Fuzzy Voronoi Diagram

2008
In this paper, with first introduce a new extension of Voronoi diagram. We assume Voronoi sites to be fuzzy sets and then define Voronoi diagram for this kind of sites, and provide an algorithm for computing this diagram for fuzzy sites. In the next part of the paper we change sites from set of points to set of fuzzy circles.

Voronoier

Proceedings of the 13th International Symposium on Visual Information Communication and Interaction, 2020
We describe an interactive application for transforming an image into a Voronoi diagram. We combine a variety of methods for generating a spatial point cloud from an input image. In addition, several methods for pruning the spatial point cloud are introduced.

Generalization of Voronoi Diagrams in the Plane

SIAM Journal on Computing, 1981
In this paper we study the Voronoi diagram for a set of N line segments and circles in the Euclidean plane.
