Caustics of the vortex beams generated by vortex lenses and vortex axicons
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2020In this work, the propagation of vortex beams is treated using a catastrophe theory approach. Analytic expressions are deduced to describe caustic surfaces produced by vortex lenses and vortex axicons. The obtained analytics allow us to explain the formation of the shadow region along the optical axis for vortex beams using ...

Interferometric optical vortex array generator
Applied Optics, 2007Two new interferometric configurations for optical vortex array generation are presented. These interferometers are different from the conventional interferometers in that they are capable of producing a large number of isolated zeros of intensity, and all of them contain optical vortices. Simulation and theory for optical vortex array generation using

Terahertz vortex generation methods in rippled and vortex plasmas
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2019Terahertz vortices have strong potential for many applications such as imaging and sensing in medicine, biomedical engineering, rotations of molecules, quantum condensation, optical tweezers, manipulation of electron beams, and communications. However, owing to recent developments, there has been less research about vortex generation in the terahertz ...

Generation of vortex lightbeams
MIPPR 2019: Multispectral Image Acquisition, Processing, and Analysis, 2020Generally, the vortex lightwaves are beams that propagates helically along an axis. In an optical vortex, light is twisted. Due to their twisting property, the light at the position of the axis cancels each other. If the vortex is projected onto a plane, its image looks like a halo, with a dark area without light in the middle.

Intracavity vortex beam generation
SPIE Proceedings, 2011In this paper we explore vortex beams and in particular the generation of single LG0l modes and superpositions thereof. Vortex beams carry orbital angular momentum (OAM) and this intrinsic property makes them prevalent in transferring this OAM to matter and to be used in quantum information processing.

Viscous vortex core generation
Acta Mechanica, 1987The unsteady flow of a viscous incompressible fluid between two porous co-axial circular cylinders is analysed when the outer cylinder is impulsively set into rotation. When there is a radial inflow, vorticity is transferred from an unsteady boundary layer initially over the outer cylinder to a steady boundary layer over the inner cylinder.
