Dynamics and Wake Interference Mechanism of Long Flexible Circular Cylinders in Side-by-Side Arrangements

open access: yesEnergies
The vortex-induced vibrations of two side-by-side flexible cylinders in a uniform flow were studied using a three-dimensional direct numerical simulation at Reynolds number Re = 350 with an aspect ratio of 100, and a center-to-center spacing ratio of 2.5.

Quasiparticle excitation in and around the vortex core of underdoped YBa_2Cu_4O_8 studied by site-selective NMR

open access: yes, 2002
We report a site-selective ^{17}O spin-lattice relaxation rate T_1^{-1} in the vortex state of underdoped YBa_2Cu_4O_8. We found that T_1^{-1} at the planar sites exhibits an unusual nonmonotonic NMR frequency dependence.

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

The bluff body stabilized premixed flame in an acoustically resonating tube: combustion CFD and measured pressure field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The resulting limit cycle amplitude and frequency spectrum of a flame placed in a combustor of rectangular cross section is investigated. The partially premixed flame is stabilized on a bluff body placed in the upstream half of the combustor.

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

Simulation of Unsteady Aerdynamic Load for Rigid Coaxial Rotor in Forward Flight with Vortex Particle Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Co-axial rotor systems are frequently used for high-speed helicopters. Nevertheless, issues related to rotor-head drag, aerodynamic performance and vibration should also be considered. Simulating the unsteady aerodynamic loads for a rigid coaxial rotor,

MOx/Rh Metallene with Energetic Interfaces as Efficient Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Durable Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Developing excellent activity and stability bifunctional electrocatalysts for alkaline water splitting remains challenging. This work constructs ultrathin MOx/Rh metallene heterostructures (M = Fe, Co, Ni) via atmosphere‐controlled solvothermal synthesis, achieving uniform MOx nanoclusters on Rh metallene with optimized interfaces. The FeOx/
