Dynamics of vortex rings moving counter the lift
Fluid Dynamics, 2017The motion of a buoyant vortex ring counter the direction of the lift of given value is experimentally investigated on a wide range of the initial velocity of the ring. The dynamics of its parameters are determined. The experimental results are compared with the calculations according to the earlier developed theoretical model.

Vortex Induced Lift on Two Dimensional Low Speed Wings
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1984Exact free streamline solutions are found for two dimensional inviscid incompressible flow past a single and a multiple flap wing using a hodograph method. It is shown that solutions do not exist for arbitrary shapes, but that a geometrical constraint must be satisfied between the shape of the wing and the angle of attack.

Vortex Generation in a Low Speed Wind Tunnel and Vortex Interactions With a High-Lift Airfoil

A lifting-surface solution for vortex-induced airloads
AIAA Journal, 1971Planar lifting-surface theory is applied to the problem of the loads induced on an infinite aspect-ratio wing by a straight, infinite, free vortex in a subsonic, compressible, freestream; the vortex lies in a plane parallel to the plane of the wing, at a given distance below it, and at an arbitrary angle with the wing centerline.

Lift-induced wing-tip vortex attenuation
12th Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 1974It has been shown by a new static airflow visualization method that a drogue device properly positioned downstream of the wing tip causes vortex breakdown. This same result has been obtained by mounting a jet engine simulator at the wing tip and directing the high-energy jet blast downstream into the vortex.

Lift Augmentation between Passive and Active Vortex Generator
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2016This study was conducted to investigate the performance of passive and active vortex generator on the wing’s flap. The triangular shape of passive vortex generator (VG) was developed and attached on the wing’s flap leading edge while the plasma actuator performed as active vortex generator.
