Validation of IRDFF-II library in VR-1 reactor field using thin targets [PDF]
Cross section data are fundamental quantities which affect the accuracy of all calculations in nuclear applications. A new dosimetry library IRDFF-II that contains cross section evaluations with full uncertainty quantification was developed by the International Atomic Energy Agency and released in January 2020 (https://www-nds.iea.org/IRDFF).

Conversion Analyses for the VR-1 Reactor [PDF]
At the request of the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, ANL has performed independent verification calculations using the MCNP Monte Carlo code for three core configurations of the VR-1 reactor: a current core configuration B1 with HEU (36%) IRT-3M fuel assemblies and planned core configurations C1 and C2 with LEU (19.7%) IRT-4M fuel ...

Application of the Source-Jerk method using a neutron generator in a subcritical reactor [PDF]
This paper describes the application of the Source-Jerk method using a neutron generator in the VR-1 reactor. The experiments were carried out on a shutdown reactor with subcriticality greater than -10 βeff.

Neutron activation analysis of environmental samples at the Training reactor VR-1
Abstract Described research work is focused on the study of environmental pollution in the Czech Republic using an instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). The samples of mosses and alluvial soils were irradiated at the VR-1 training reactor utilizing a nondestructive (instrumental) method of NAA at the Czech Technical University

Enhancement of liquid/gas production during co-pyrolysis of vacuum residue and plastics due to synergistic interactions [PDF]
Vacuum residue (VR) was copyrolysed with polyethylene (PE) or polystyrene (PS) in a batch reactor to investigate the corresponding synergistic pyrolytic interactions. The synergistic interactions between VR and plastic pyrolysates enhanced liquid and gas

Measurement of prompt gamma field above the VR-1 water level [PDF]
Pool-type reactors are an excellent source of high energy photons without neutrons because the water above fuel acts as an outstanding neutron shielding, whereas for high energy photons, it is nearly transparent.

Calcium Carbonate and Water Pyrolysis Measurements Suggest Minor Adjustment to the VPDB and VSMOW-SLAP δ18O Scale Relation. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Rationale Measurements of the oxygen isotopic composition of materials are widely used in many fields. These oxygen isotopic compositions are expressed using different scales. These scales are only linked indirectly, because water and calcium carbonate reference materials, used to establish these oxygen isotope delta scales, have to be ...
