Durability testing at one atmosphere of advanced catalysts and catalyst supports for automotive gas turbine engine combustors, part 1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The durability of catalysts and catalyst supports in a combustion environment was experimentally demonstrated. A test of 1000 hours duration was completed with two catalysts, using diesel fuel and operating at catalytically supported thermal combustion ...

Utilization of Pulsed Current‐Electro Fenton Technology for the Treatment of Wastewater from Industrial Processes

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Pulsed‐Electro‐Fenton method: Experiments were conducted on the direct and pulsed current‐electro‐Fenton processes. EAOP methods were compared for elimination color and COD from industrial wastewater. EF technique effectively removes color and COD while consuming minimal electricity.

Neutrino Mixings and the S4 Discrete Flavour Symmetry

open access: yes, 2012
Discrete non-Abelian Symmetries have been extensively used to reproduce the lepton mixings. In particular, the S4 group turned out to be suitable to describe predictive mixing patterns, such as the well-known Tri-Bimaximal and the Bimaximal schemes ...

Nanomembrane Etching and Release Process for the Realization of Hybrid InP/Si Photonic‐Crystal Surface‐Emitting Lasers Using Micro‐Transfer Printing

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
In this article, a process for achieving small‐area, high‐bandwidth photonic‐crystal surface‐emitting lasers for optical telecom is presented. InP active material is integrated onto an Si‐photonic crystal using a commercially established micro‐transfer printing technique.

All‐GaN‐Based Monolithic MIS‐HEMT Integrated Micro‐LED Pixels for Active‐Matrix Displays

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
An all‐GaN‐based monolithic active‐matrix micro‐LED system that integrates metal‐insulator‐semiconductor high‐electron‐mobility transistors with LEDs is demonstrated. The proposed structure employs direct electron injection from the 2DEG into the quantum well. A 2 × 2 pixel matrix is constructed with row and column lines demonstrating the capability of

Intermediate left-right gauge symmetry, unification of couplings and fermion masses in SUSY $SO(10)\times S_4$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
If left-right gauge theory occurs as an intermediate symmetry in a GUT then, apart from other advantages, it is possible to obtain the see-saw scale necessary to understand small neutrino masses with Majorana coupling of order unity. Barring threshold or

Optical Investigations of Nano‐LEDs Based on Submicron‐Sized III‐Nitride Platelets

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
InGaN/GaN platelets containing a single quantum well are studied. It is aimed to use these submicron‐sized platelets as pixels in direct emissive displays. The strain is kept low and can cover the entire visible range. The main defect in the platelets is stacking mismatch boundaries introduced by multiseeding of the layers in the structure.

Lorentz and CPT Violation in Neutrinos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A general formalism is presented for violations of Lorentz and CPT symmetry in the neutrino sector. The effective hamiltonian for neutrino propagation in the presence of Lorentz and CPT violation is derived, and its properties are studied.

Shallow Nitrogen Vacancy Color Centers in Diamond by Ion Implantation

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This study investigates the formation of shallow nitrogen‐vacancy (NV) centers in CVD diamond through broad‐beam ion implantation across a SiO₂ layer. By adjusting the ion incidence angle, the distribution of NV centers is controlled, as predicted by sytopping and range of ions in matter (SRIM) simulations and confirmed by angle‐resolved X‐ray ...

The Interplay Between GUT and Flavour Symmetries in a Pati-Salam x S4 Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Both Grand Unified symmetries and discrete flavour symmetries are appealing ways to describe apparent structures in the gauge and flavour sectors of the Standard Model. Both symmetries put constraints on the high energy behaviour of the theory.
