AD–OX: A sequential oxidative process for water treatment— Adsorption and batch CWAO regeneration of activated carbon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A sequential process for water treatment involving usual adsorption on activated carbon (AC) followed by wet air catalytic oxidation of the adsorbed pollutants has been carried out in a fixed bed reactor with a mixture of two model pollutants.

Spin Matters: A Multidisciplinary Roadmap to Understanding Spin Effects in Oxygen Evolution Reaction During Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 4, 28 January 2026.
This roadmap offers a forward‐looking perspective on spin enhancement in the oxygen evolution reaction. It highlights how combining systematic experiments, advanced computational modeling, and novel magnetic, chiral, or hybrid materials can deepen the understanding of spin‐dependent catalytic mechanisms.

The use of the chemical method for the determination of interfacial areas in gas-liquid contactors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The interfacial area achem in a gas-liquid contactor as determined by the chemical method deviates from the true geometrical interfacial area ageo, because the overall conversion of the gas phase reactant represents an incorrect average if bubble sizes ...

Co‐Impregnated MgAl Layered Double Hydroxide as an Efficient Catalyst for Glycerol Oligomerization

open access: yesApplied Organometallic Chemistry, Volume 40, Issue 1, January 2026.
A cobalt(II) acetylacetonate–impregnated MgAl LDH catalyst was developed, showing enhanced basicity and superior activity in glycerol oligomerization, achieving 68% conversion and 27% diglycerol selectivity. The catalyst maintained high performance over three recycling cycles, with structural and surface modifications confirmed by comprehensive ...

Gallia‐ Versus Alumina‐Supported Cu: Dynamics of Ga in Catalysts for Green Methanol Production

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Cu‐based catalysts with Al2O3 or Ga2O3 supports were studied for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. Complementary in situ and operando XAS and XRPD reveal that copper and gallium undergo various structural changes from the precursor state. Ga promotion benefits arise rather from metal‐oxide interfaces than CuGa alloys.

Measuring phytic acid in complex and fermented food matrices: Modified protocol using enzymatic analysis

open access: yesJSFA reports, Volume 6, Issue 1, Page 4-13, January 2026.
Abstract Background and Objective Quantifying phytic acid in complex or fermented foods is essential for assessing nutritional quality. Conventional enzymatic assays often overestimate phytic acid due to nonspecific hydrolysis of phosphorylated compounds.

Measuring Active-to-Sterile Neutrino Oscillations with Neutral Current Coherent Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering

open access: yes, 2012
Light sterile neutrinos have been introduced as an explanation for a number of oscillation signals at $\Delta m^2 \sim 1$ eV$^2$. Neutrino oscillations at relatively short baselines provide a probe of these possible new states.

Sterile Neutrino Anarchy

open access: yes, 2013
Lepton mixing, which requires physics beyond the Standard Model, is surprisingly compatible with a minimal, symmetryless and unbiased approach, called anarchy. This contrasts with highly involved flavor symmetry models. On the other hand, hints for light
