Applied Genetic Algorithm for Solving Rich VRP

open access: yesApplied Artificial Intelligence, 2014
In this article, we present a study of the effectiveness of a genetic algorithm (GA) to solve a combinatorial problem, that is, a vehicle routing problem (VRP). We propose a new selection method, called “rank and select,” based on selection rate, and we compare it with roulette wheel selection.

Biologically‐Oriented Alveolar Ridge Preservation (BARP) in Intact and Compromised Extraction Sockets

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The Biologically‐oriented Alveolar Ridge Preservation (BARP) is an innovative technique characterized by the stratification of different biomaterials (collagen sponge and xenograft) at intact and compromised sockets. In both groups, the hard and soft tissue modification (bone width, bone height, tissue profile, and hard tissue composition) was limited.

Integrated transportation system planning with gravitational search algorithm approach based on fuzzy mutant controller

open access: yesمدیریت بهره وری
: Gravitational search algorithm is a newly emerging meta-heuristic algorithm. In this algorithm, the gravitational force between answers can be calculated in two ways.

PyVRP: A High-Performance VRP Solver Package

open access: yesINFORMS Journal on Computing
We introduce PyVRP, a Python package that implements hybrid genetic search in a state-of-the-art vehicle routing problem (VRP) solver. The package is designed for the VRP with time windows (VRPTW) but can be easily extended to support other VRP variants.

Collaborative platooning and routing for mixed fleets of electric automated vehicles and conventional trucks

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 460-500, January 2027.
Abstract The application of automated ground vehicles (AGVs) is well‐established in closed environments such as port terminals, while their operation in open areas remains challenging. In this work, we set out to overcome this limitation by introducing platooning as a transfer mode in heterogeneous vehicle networks.

Straddle carrier routing optimization at container terminals utilizing telemetry‐based prediction

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 429-459, January 2027.
Abstract Efficient vehicle routing and scheduling for horizontal transport means on container terminals can reduce lead times and travel distances, resulting in fuel savings and productivity gains. We apply machine learning to emulate operational processes, bridging the gap between theoretical optimization models and real‐world practices at container ...

A formulation and a metaheuristic approach for the clustered vehicle routing problem with d‐relaxed priority rule

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 6, Page 3714-3743, November 2026.
Abstract This paper investigates an extension of the vehicle routing problem in which, in addition to minimizing the distance traveled, the sequencing of customer visits is subject to precedence constraints that impose visiting priorities among customers.
