Performance analysis of paralleled VSC-HVDC systems
2016 International Conference on Microelectronics, Computing and Communications (MicroCom), 2016This paper presents a detailed study of the VSC-HVDC system along with the related cases of paralleling two similar VSC-HVDC systems. A basic VSC-HVDC system is designed with controllers on either side of the system. The system is further expanded by connecting a similar VSC-HVDC system in parallel for enhancing the reliability.

DC line protection for VSC-HVDC system
2012 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2012Voltage source converters based HVDC (VSC-HVDC) systems involving overhead transmission lines are prone to severe over-currents and over-voltages during dc line faults. This necessitates the operation of the system with some kind of protective devices to overcome the effects of dc line faults.

Fault Current Limiters for VSC-HVDC systems
10th IET International Conference on AC and DC Power Transmission (ACDC 2012), 2012Fault Current Limiters (FCL) limit fault current levels to a more manageable level, this way it becomes possible to increase the transmission ratings of an electrical system, without changing the equipment. Thus, the existing equipment is able to handle the new currents and protect properly the system.

Integration of wind farm to VSC-HVDC system
2017 International Conference on Smart grids, Power and Advanced Control Engineering (ICSPACE), 2017Renewable energy resources are playing an important role in reducing the energy crisis. One of the important resources is being wind energy systems. Most of the times, offshore wind power is transferred to the main land grid through VSC-HVDC transmission system due to its advantages.

Overview on VSC-HVDC Systems Based on PV
2018 IEEE International Power Electronics and Application Conference and Exposition (PEAC), 2018As a result of the rapid development of DC charging and the extensive use of electronic devices, the number of DC loads has increased dramatically. Loads have the characteristics of AC and DC coexist. At the same time, there are many distributed power sources in microgrids, such as PV, wind power generation, and so on.

Evaluation of losses in VSC-HVDC transmission system
2008 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting - Conversion and Delivery of Electrical Energy in the 21st Century, 2008The paper describes methods to determine the operating losses of every component in VSC-HVDC transmission system. Converter valves, converter transformer, converter reactors and the others devices are considered. The procedure for loss evaluation is presented and measures to reducing the losses are presented. The difference and similarity of evaluation

Observability analysis of power system including VSC-HVDC
International Conference on Sustainable Power Generation and Supply (SUPERGEN 2012), 2012The mathematical model of Voltage Source Converter (VSC) is totally different from the mathematical model of AC system. The observability analysis methods for AC system should be improved for modern power systems including VSC-HVDC. This paper presents an observability analysis algorithm for VSC-AC system.
